If I would compare Twitter and Facebook or Instagram, then MY EXPERIENCE would be that people use Twitter to express their disagreement.

And on social media like Fb or Instagram, people post images of their vacation, food they make, and similar.

In both cases, it's a matter of social currency as a Contagious book explains it (great book).

We want to appear smart, better than xy, up to date, successful, and beautiful. Social currency can be in the form of "I know better than you" or "Look at me how cool I am".

Some also post to social media posts like "My cat is sick. What can I do?" but most ask Google for advice :).
